Here we go. I’ve just received this earlier today. My initial reaction on my first keypress was that these RK Red switches are quite scratchy and the keycaps sound quite thin as well. When I first plugged in the keyboard to my PC, my keypresses were not registering properly. I thought the keyboard was defective and contemplated asking for a replacement, but I unplugged and re-plugged the cable and the keypress issue went away, so everything seems to be working fine now. Lets hope it stays that way.

The stabilizers are okay, nothing special. The spacebar rattles a lot. The software, however, is my biggest issue. The one provided on the RKGaming website does not run, and the one I found on Reddit provided by someone else needs a firmware update to work. But the problem is that updating the firmware can apparently cause issues like F11 and F12 not working or Fn key not registering. It also allegedly does not support custom RGB settings in wireless mode. So I dare not try that, in case the firmware update is irreversible. Thus, I opted not to use the software at all.

Overall, I guess you get what you pay for with this keyboard. Its a decent entry-level option for a decent price. But I’m not blown away in any way. I have the SK61 that I bought from this site a couple of months ago, and that felt like a better deal than this when taking into account their prices and build quality.

5-Stars to GenesisPC for the quick and timely delivery.
3-Stars to the RK71. If it had better quality switches and keycaps, I would have given it 5.
